CSIP Executive Director, Dr. Oum Sothea, Provided Presentation and Discussion in the UNDP’s Dissemination Workshop on Gender Wage Gaps in Cambodia
Thursday, 11 March 2021– CSIP Executive Director, Dr. Oum Sothea, provided the presentation and discussion in the virtual workshop on “Gender Wage Gaps in Cambodia” organized by UNDP Cambodia, on March 11, 2021.
The workshop aimed to discuss the research findings on empirical evidence on magnitude of the impact of various factors on the gender wage gaps and policy recommendations. The research was conducted by Dr. Oum Sothea, supported by UNDP Cambodia.
The presentation was followed by the panel discussion. The panelists were H.E Chea Serey, Assistant Governor and Director General of National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), H.E The Chhun Hak, Director General of Gender Equality and Economic Development of Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Dr. Eng Netra, Acting Executive Director of CDRI. Mr. Nick Beresford, Resident Representative of UNDP Cambodia, moderated the panel discussion.
Ms. Pauline Tamesis, UN Resident Coordinator, provided opening remarks for the workshop and shared some key questions for the discussions. The workshop was attended by participants from government institutions, international development partners, embassies, NGOs and academic institutions.
