Thursday, 13 August 2020 – MOE mandated CSIP to conduct policy researches on waste and environmental management pricing strategy and sustainable community development model, through the official agreement signing event between H.E Vann Monyneath, Secretary General of General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (GSSD/NCSD) and Dr. Phim Runsinarith, Acting Executive Director of CSIP. The event was presided over by H.E Dr. Tin Ponlok, Secretary of State and Representative of H.E Say Samal, Minister, Ministry of Environment (MOE) and attended by senior officials of MOE and GSSD/NCSD.

The two research projects will provide policy frameworks to reduce negative environmental impacts and to mainstream national development vision to the community level.

The agreement signing event followed the workshop discussion on potential research collaboration between leadership management teams of MOE and CSIP, presided over by H.E Say Samal, in June 2020. The Minister strongly supported the initiatives and encouraged further discussions with GSSD/NCSD and relevant departments, that lead to this research collaboration agreement.
